In the breathtaking valleys of Azad Kashmir, beauty and hardship exist side by side. Behind the mountain views lie stories of struggle, of men, women, and children living with disabilities who cannot move freely, go to school, or work to support their families.
For many, something as simple as a wheelchair could change everything. It could turn isolation into inclusion, dependence into independence, and despair into dignity. Yet for hundreds of families, that hope remains out of reach.
This is why Hope Welfare Trust has launched the Wheelchair Appeal for Azad Kashmir, a mission to provide 150 wheelchairs to those who need them most, restoring freedom and dignity one person at a time.
What Challenges Do People Face Without Mobility?
| With 80% of all disabled people in developing countries living in poverty, we need your help to give them hope. |
In the hilly terrain of Azad Kashmir, daily life is already challenging. For those with physical disabilities, it can be nearly impossible. Many are forced to crawl on rough, uneven ground or rely completely on family members to move even short distances.
Children miss school because there is no way to travel safely. Adults are unable to work or contribute to their households. The result is not only physical pain but emotional suffering, the feeling of being trapped, forgotten, and left behind by the world.
A wheelchair is more than a tool. It is a bridge to opportunity, dignity, and self-worth.
Why a Wheelchair Means Hope?
For someone who has lost mobility, a wheelchair represents much more than movement. It restores freedom, dignity, and connection with the world. It allows people to study, work, and care for themselves with independence and pride. For many families in Azad Kashmir, it is the difference between being confined indoors and living a full, active life.
- For children, it means they can go to school, make friends, and dream again instead of watching life pass by from a corner of their home.
- For adults, it opens doors to independence and employment, enabling them to support their families and contribute to their communities.
- For the elderly, it brings back comfort and dignity, allowing them to move around their homes and spend their later years with peace and ease.
With every wheelchair delivered, Hope Welfare Trust is not just providing equipment; it is giving the gift of life, confidence, and belonging.
Hope Welfare Trust’s Commitment to Compassion
For years, Hope Welfare Trust has been working across Azad Kashmir and beyond to support vulnerable families through health, education, and emergency relief. From delivering food and medical aid in disaster zones to building sustainable community projects, every initiative is rooted in compassion and service to humanity.
The Wheelchair Appeal is part of this larger vision to create lasting change by empowering those who are often overlooked. By restoring mobility, we are restoring independence, dignity, and the ability to live with purpose.
With the continued support of generous donors and volunteers, Hope Welfare Trust remains dedicated to reaching the most remote areas, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Hope Welfare Trust’s Wheelchair Appeal
The Wheelchair Appeal for Azad Kashmir aims to deliver 150 wheelchairs to individuals and families who cannot afford them. Each wheelchair is carefully sourced, medically appropriate, and distributed through our local network to those most in need.
So far, Hope Welfare Trust has already distributed 37 wheelchairs to disabled and accident-affected families across Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

The need, however, remains urgent. There is a demand for 150 more wheelchairs, including 100 with commode facilities, to continue supporting families without access to mobility aids or rehabilitation support.
Our teams in Azad Kashmir, with the help of local volunteers and healthcare workers, ensure each wheelchair reaches the right person with care and dignity. Every delivery brings someone closer to freedom, confidence, and independence.
How Your Support Restores Lives?
Every donation brings new hope to someone who has been living in silence and struggle. With your support, Hope Welfare Trust can reach more disabled individuals across Azad Kashmir and provide them with the gift of movement and independence.
Your contribution does more than fund a wheelchair; it transforms lives. It helps a child return to school, allows an adult to work again, and restores dignity to an elderly person who no longer has to depend on others for basic needs.
Each wheelchair delivered represents freedom, comfort, and a fresh start. And behind every donation is a compassionate hand reaching out to remind someone that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
Together, we can turn your kindness into lasting change and help build a community where everyone has the chance to move forward with pride.
